We are very excited to announce that Professor Robert Thurman will hold a Weekend Program at Wood Valley Temple in January 2024.

Professor Thurman is a pre-eminent scholar & teacher of Buddhism, and is renowned for his inspiring presentations. He is the co-founder of Tibet House US in NYC and Menla Retreat in Upstate NY, and a dear friend of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Nechung Monastery. We are honored to have him and his wife Nena return to the temple after their visit in February 2023.

The event will center around his recent book “Wisdom Is Bliss : Four Friendly Fun Facts That Can Change Your Life”, and will be presented in Three sessions.

Session One: Saturday, January 27th from 10 am - 12 pm,
Session Two: Saturday, January 27th from 2 pm - 4 pm
Session Three: Sunday, January 28th from 10 am - 12 pm

Both days will include a vegetarian Potluck lunch from 12 pm - 2 pm

We are requesting a donation from attendees, proceeds will support Nechung Hawai'i and Tibet House New York. Scholarships will be available upon request.

$50 dollars per session

Seating is no longer available in the temple, however there are still up to 14 seats available on the porch.
